Burnley vs Man Utd Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Man Utd take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Manchester United will look to continue their push for the top four when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils booked their place in the semi-finals of the Europa League thanks to an extra-time 3-2 aggregate win over Anderlecht at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Jose Mourinho appears to have prioritised Europe over the Premier League as winning the Europa League would secure a place in the Champions League next season.
However, United still have a shot at finishing in the top four as they currently sit six points adrift of third-placed Liverpool with two games in hand so it’s still all to play for.
Burnley come in to the game also desperate for points after Swansea’s win today as it means Sean Dyche’s men are now just five points above the relegation zone so they’ll want to secure another win to take them within touching distance of that all-important 40-point mark.
Team News
United have been dealt a major blow with the news that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL against Anderlecht on Thursday night.
Marcus Rojo has also been ruled out for several months after damaging his ACL in that same game so with Phil Jones and Chris Smalling still out, Mourinho has little option but to pair Daley Blind with Eric Bailly tomorrow.
Ander Herrera, Matteo Darmian, David De Gea and Ashley Young are expected to get recalls after being left out in Europe while Anthony Martial could also get a recall.
Burnley will hand late fitness tests to Sam Vokes and Scott Arfield but Johann Berg Gundmundsson could return to the squad after recovering from a knee injury.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Burnley 1-2 Man Utd: United remain unbeaten in their last 22 Premier League games and they’ve been grinding out results in recent weeks during a hectic period. The victory over Chelsea last weekend was impressive and they dominated Anderlecht without taking their chances. Burnley’s home record is excellent so it will be a tough game but I fancy United to edge it.
