Manchester United put one foot in the final of the Europa League after securing a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo in their semi-final first leg in Spain tonight.

United put in a very disciplined performance and controlled the game for long periods but perhaps made heavy work of a very average Celta Vigo side.

The hosts missed a great headed chance early on before Rashford went close up the other end with a fine effort from the edge of the box that was well saved.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan then missed a great chance to break the deadlock when his effort was saved while the hosts fought back to create a couple of half chances.

United finally opened the scoring midway through the second half when Rashford curled home a superb free-kick from 25 yards to make it 0-1 in the 67th minute.

Cleta pushed to find an equaliser but United held out and take a vital away goal back with them to Old Trafford for the second leg next week.
