Some of the Arsenal players have been sending congratulatory messages to Eddie Nketiah following his heroics against Norwich City last night.
With Arsenal losing 1-0 and just minutes left on the clock, Nketiah came off the bench to score an 85th minute equaliser with his first touch to send the League Cup tie in to extra-time.
The 18-year-old then rose high to head home from a Mohamed Elneny corner in the 95th minute to secure a 2-1 victory and book our place in the last eight of the Carabao Cup.
It was a dream home debut for the teenager and he made himself an instant hero with the Emirates crowd chanting ‘Eddie, Eddie, Eddie’ throughout extra-time.
Some of his team-mates have now taken to Twitter to congratulate Nketiah for his performance last night with Reiss Nelson, Hector Bellerin, Rob Holding, Theo Walcott and Shkodran Mustafi all posting messages.
Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry also expressed his delight at Nketiah’s display and said he’s not surprised having seen first hand how talented the teenager is during his time coaching the youngsters at London Colney.
Nketiah has also taken to Twitter to says it’s a ‘dream come true’ for him to score twice on his debut at the Emirates and I’m sure there will be plenty more goals to come from the teenager.
