4-3-2-1: Mourinho Makes 5 Changes | Team News & Expected Man Utd XI vs Sevilla
Manchester United play the first leg of their Champions League clash with Sevilla tomorrow night. Here is the team I think Jose Mourinho will pick
Manchester United will be looking to bring home a positive result from the first leg of their Champions League last-16 clash with Sevilla in Spain tomorrow night.
Here is the team I think Jose Mourinho will pick for the game:
Goalkeeper: David De Gea is certain to be recalled between the sticks after being rested for the FA Cup win over Huddersfield so Sergio Romero is set to make way.
Defence: Phil Jones missed the cup clash at the weekend with a knock and the defender doesn’t look to be ready to return so Chris Smalling should keep his place in the back four.
Ashley Young is also expected to be retained, although the 32-year-old could move over to left-back with Luke Shaw making way. Antonio Valencia will then come back in at right-back.
Victor Lindelof made a rare start at the weekend but I think we could see Eric Bailly make his long-awaited return after recovering from ankle surgery that’s kept him out for three months.
Midfield: United are set to welcome Paul Pogba back in to the squad after he missed the Huddersfield game and the French international is expected to make an immediate return to the starting eleven.
Michael Carrick is set to be the man to make way as Nemanja Matic should once again start in the holding role while Ander Herrera may have to make do with a place on the bench after returning to training from a thigh injury.
Scott McTominay will be unfortunate to drop out after another encouraging performance at the weekend but Marouane Fellaini remains out with a knee injury.

Much has been made of how Mourinho sets-up in midfield but I think we could see him play with three in the middle – especially when United aren’t in possession – with Jesse Lingard dropping a little deeper alongside Pogba and Matic sitting in front of the defence.
Attack: No doubt Romelu Lukaku will once again lead the line up front with Alexis Sanchez set to make his first appearance for United in the Champions League following his January move from Arsenal.
However, it will be interesting to see who Mourinho picks to start on the right side of attack with Juan Mata, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford all vying for the position.
Rashford is back in contention after recovering from a muscle strain while Martial is pushing for a recall after being named on the bench at the weekend but I think Mata could be given the nod tomorrow night.
Here is how we think United will line-up:
