The January transfer window in closed so it’s time to look at those deals that didn’t get over the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Liverpool are linked with Dani Ceballos…
Liverpool have held talks with the agent of Dani Ceballos and been given encouragement a £30.8m deal could be agreed for the Real Madrid midfielder, according to a report by TeamTalk.
Ceballos came through the youth ranks at Real Betis and snubbed interest from a whole host of top European clubs to join Madrid in a £12m move last summer.
However, the 21-year-old’s time at the Bernabeu hasn’t gone according to plan as Ceballos has struggled to establish himself in Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven on a regular basis.
The young midfielder has started just two La Liga matches this season despite both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric spending time on the sidelines and it seems Liverpool have been alerted to his situation.
TeamTalk claim Ceballos met with Madrid president Florentino Perez at the end of last week to vent his frustrations and to ask the Spanish giants to grant him a move to Liverpool this summer.
The report cites Spanish outlet Don Balon as saying that Liverpool have already opened talks with Ceballos’s agent and have been given encouragement that a £30.8m deal could be agreed with Madrid.
The Reds were heavily linked with the Spanish U21 international during the January window and it seems Madrid are now ready to cash-in with a move to Anfield on the cards.
Jurgen Klopp is expected to be in the market for midfield reinforcements this summer as they still haven’t signed a replacement for Philippe Coutinho while Emre Can’s future at the club is in serious doubt.

Ceballos has emerged as a prime target and I think he’d be an exciting addition to the Liverpool squad if Klopp was able to wrap-up a deal to sign the talented midfielder this summer.
