Midfielder Drops Transfer Hint Amid Reports Of £30.5m Liverpool Move
Dani Ceballos has cast doubt over his future at Real Madrid amid reports the midfielder is being lined-up for a move to Liverpool this summer
The transfer window is closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Dani Ceballos has spoken out over his future…
Dani Ceballos has cast doubt over his future at Real Madrid amid reports the midfielder is being lined-up for a move to Liverpool this summer, according to the Express.
Ceballos made his name at Real Betis before joining Madrid last summer but he’s struggled to force his way in to Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven on a regular basis.
The 21-year-old has started just 2 La Liga games this campaign and it’s led to reports he’s already looking for a move after becoming increasingly frustrated with his bit-part role at the Bernabeu.
Ceballos was strongly linked a move to Liverpool and Betis during the January transfer window and Jurgen Klopp has seemingly maintained his interest in signing the Spanish U21 international ahead of the summer.
TeamTalk reported last week that Liverpool have already registered their interest in signing Ceballos and are hoping to wrap-up a £30.5m deal over the coming months.
The Reds have now been handed a boost as the Spaniard has dropped a hint he could leave Madrid this summer after admitting he will assess his future at the end of the season.
Ceballos is quoted by the Express as saying:
“I do not regret not leaving. (Betis manager Enrique) Setien called me several times at Christmas telling me to help for five months. But the move could not be done.
“My goal is to be at Real Madrid this season and when the season ends (I will) decide my future, but I want to be here.”
Klopp is expected to be in the market for another midfielder because Emre Can is being tipped to leave as his contract expires in June and he’s yet to agree terms over an extension.
Ceballos can play in a central midfield position or further forward in attack so he’d give Klopp plenty of options if he does end up making a move to Anfield this summer.

However, Liverpool won’t be the only club in the running for his signature and Ceballos is under contract until 2023 so it might yet prove difficult to secure a deal for the talented midfielder.
