From Spain: £25m Star Will Be Liverpool’s 1st Summer Signing After Club Agrees To Sell
Dani Ceballos is set to become Liverpool’s first signing of the summer window after Real Madrid agreed to sell the midfielder to the Merseysiders
The transfer window may be closed but managers are working hard on their plans for the summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, the latest on Dani Ceballos to Liverpool…
Dani Ceballos is set to become Liverpool’s first signing of the summer window after Real Madrid agreed to sell the midfielder to the Merseysiders, according to reports in Spain via the Express.
Ceballos joined Madrid from Real Betis in a £15m move last summer but has struggled to force his way in to Zinedine Zidane’s starting eleven on a regular basis this season.
The Spanish U21 international has started just 2 La Liga games this campaign with the majority of his playing time coming from the bench or in the cup competitions.
Understandably, the midfielder is reportedly frustrated with his bit-part role at the Bernabeu and Ceballos was strongly linked with a move to Anfield during the January transfer window.
Florentino Perez was initially reluctant to let the talented youngster leave but the Express are citing reports from Don Balon that claim Madrid have now agreed to sell Ceballos to the Reds this summer.
The Spanish publication suggests that Jurgen Klopp is desperate to sign the 21-year-old as he looks to bring in a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following his January move to Barcelona.
Don Balon, via the Express, say a deal is now expected to go through at the end of the season with Ceballos set to become Liverpool’s first signing of the summer but Madrid will insists on a buy-back clause being inserted in to any agreement.
No transfer fee is suggested in the report but TeamTalk reported last month that Ceballos was valued at £25m and I think he’d be an excellent piece of business if Liverpool could snap him up at that price in today’s market.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but Ceballos would provide Klopp with another top class option in midfield if he does end up making the move to Anfield this summer.
