Man Utd Steal March On Liverpool By Tabling £35m Bid For South American Attacker
Manchester United have stolen a march on Liverpool after submitting a £35m bid to sign Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca this summer
The summer transfer window is now open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd make their move for Talisca….
Manchester United have stolen a march on Liverpool after submitting a £35m bid to sign Benfica attacker Anderson Talisca this summer, according to reports in Portugal via the Mirror.
Talisca has been on Benfica’s books since 2014 and developed in to one of the most exciting young attacking midfielders in Portuguese football before joining Besiktas on a two-year loan in 2016.
The 24-year-old was a big success in Turkey as he won the league title in his first season while he provided an impressive 20 goals and 8 assists in all competitions last campaign.
That sort of form has caught the attention of clubs here in the Premier League and TeamTalk reported last weekend that Liverpool had emerged as favourites to sign the South American star.
Jurgen Klopp is in the market for another attacker this summer as the Liverpool boss needs to add more depth behind the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane and it seems Talisca is on his radar.
However, Manchester United have stolen a march on the Merseysiders as the Mirror are citing a report from O Jogo that claims the Red Devils have now submitted a £35m offer for Talisca’s services.
Besiktas have surprisingly passed up the opportunity to sign the Brazilian U23 international on a permanent basis so it’s left the door open for the likes of United to swoop in and get a deal agreed with Benfica.
Jose Mourinho is looking to strengthen his squad this summer as he looks to build a side capable of competing with Man City for the title and Talisca has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time.

We’ll have to wait and see if Liverpool now step-up their interest in the player but the Mirror says United are already facing competition from two Chinese sides, so it looks like Talisca will have plenty of options this summer.
