Managers are working hard trying to strengthen their squads during the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Ozan Kabak…
Manchester United are in talks with Ozan Kabak over a potential £13.5m deal to sign in-demand Stuttgart defender as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to strengthen his defence this summer, according to reports in Germany via the Metro.
Solskjaer needs to overhaul his squad after a disappointing campaign that saw United finish sixth in the Premier League and defence is a particular area of concern as the Red Devils shipped 54 goals in their 38 league games – the most they’ve conceded in 40 years.
It’s been well reported that United are chasing right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka but Solskjaer is also reportedly in the market for a centre-back to partner Victor Lindelof as doubts continue over Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly.
Man Utd have been linked with the likes of Harry Maguire and Kalidou Koulibaly in recent weeks but they’ve struggled to agree deals as Leicester and Napoli are demanding huge money for the pair.
It looks like Solskjaer is eyeing a cheaper alternative as the Metro are citing a report from Kicker that claims Manchester United are in talks with the agent of Stuttgart defender Ozan Kabak about a potential move to Old Trafford this summer.
The 19-year-old came through the youth ranks at Galatasaray before moving to Stuttgart back in January and although Kabak impressed during the second half of the season, he couldn’t prevent his new team from being relegated from the Bundesliga.
The Turkish youth international is now attracting huge interest as the Metro says he has a release clause worth just £13.5m written into his contract that becomes active following Stuttgart’s relegation from the top flight.
That price-tag makes Kabak an attractive prospect considering the fees being quoted for the likes of Maguire and Koulibaly but Man Utd are going to face stiff competition for the Turkish youngsters signature.

Kicker, via the Metro, claim that West Ham United, AC Milan, Schalke and Monaco have also expressed an interest in signing Kabak while Bayern Munich have also reportedly identified him as a replacement for Mats Hummels following his move to Borussia Dortmund.
