Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has ruled out any transfer business at Anfield before the transfer window closes on Tuesday night.

Dalglsih told Liverpool’s official website, Liverpoolfc.tv, that he wont be bringing in any fresh faces in the closing stages of the window, while he also ruled out any of his existing playing squad leaving Anfield. He said:

“There’ll be nothing happening here in the transfer window, in or out.

“There’s no need to ask any questions about transfers or speculation or anything else.” Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv

Liverpool have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks, with a striker said to be high on Dalglish’s agenda due to their poor goal-scoring record this season.

The latest name to be linked with a move to Anfield is Man City outcast Carlos Tevez, with the Guardian reporting that the Merseysiders asked about a potential swap deal involving Andy Carroll. However, City are said to have rejected that offer out of hand.

Judging by Kenny’s comments today, it looks like Liverpool will have to make do with their existing squad as the club targets a Carling and FA Cup double, as well as trying to secure a top four finish.

U must be out of your mind to think we dont need new players, the fact that we’re in the Carling Cup Final and have progressed in the FA Cup does not suggest so. I hope we dont see why we need quality players against Wolves, dropping points against teams we should be seeing off without any difficulties. Carrol, Hendo, Downing not good enough for Lfc, Adam inconsistent. Pls get us someone who can score alot of goals, u try and get Zarate on loan or any good players. Remy, Lodeiro, Marin, Lucas Barrios, Shaqiri, Hoilett. Thanks and God bless..

This man is stupid….yes out of his old sense. Cos we qualified doesn’t mean we don’t don’t have loop holes. Imagine, players want to play for us but we don’t bid for them. Isn’t that insane.

And one more thing….apart from Suarez and Bellamy….and maybe kuyt. We don’t have any striker. What happened to podolski we were linked with,David Texeira, and the likes of them. They all come in cheap. I love my liverpool but the way Dalgish is going on about this…he’s gonna get sacked. Thanks
