Moussa-Dembele

Tottenham are closing in on a double swoop for Hugo Lloris and Moussa Dembele, according to the Guardian.

The Londoners are ready to start spending after finally selling Luka Modric to Real Madrid and boss Andre Villas-Boas has a number of targets in mind including Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Fulham midfielder Moussa Dembele.

The Guardian claim Spurs have already agreed a £13m fee with the Ligue 1 outfit for Lloris, and the player must now decide whether he wants to move to White Hart Lane.

The French No.1 has been Villas-Boas’ first choice goalkeeping target since becoming Tottenham boss and after seeing an initial bid rejected in July, the Portuguese coach has now been able to strike a deal with Lyon accepting a £13m offer over the weekend.

President Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed Lloris has now been given permission to speak with Spurs over the move. Quoted in the Guardian, he said:

“I had contact with Daniel Levy [the Tottenham chairman] on Sunday and the position between the two clubs has got closer,” Aulas said.

“I have told Hugo about the discussions with Tottenham and everything is in his hands. The decision is his.”

Next on AVB’s priority list is a replacement for Modric and it’s understood he’s stepped up his efforts to sign Fulham midfielder Dembele after being frustrated in his attempts to land Porto’s Joao Moutinho.

The Belgian ace enjoyed an impressive season last year for the Cottagers and has been tipped for a move this summer after confirming his desire to move to a bigger club.

Fulham will do all they can to hold on to their star man though, and it would take an offer of around £15m to force them into a sale.

Moussa Dembele – Waste of space for a top team, that is why Spurs have not and will not bid for him, yes in a mid table team like Fullham he is good and if we were still a mid table team I would say yes, but we are not, we are a top 4 team now and we need players that go with that status …. and he ain’t one of them (that is why no other top four/five club have bid for him) ….

@peter4spurs … you’re an idiot mate. You are entitled to your opinion, but it’s stupid and unfounded. Dembele is a class player with even more amounts of potential in the right setup. Have you even watched any game time of him? He single handedly almost beat Manure the other day. For fulham. Could you imagine him surrounded by the likes of Bale, Lennon, Sandro, Adebayor?

And he has been sought after by Man united and chelsea the past few days. This man will be a quality addition to the squad, and a great replacement for the creative lack after moving Modric on. Now support your team and stfu.

Dembele is a good player – but personally I think we should prise Nani & Anderson away from Man Utd. The player from Fulham I would take is Clint Dempsey, come on Mr Levi do your magic and try to see if you can’t ship Jenas & Bentley in the opposite direction at the same time.

Man I hope Lloris accepts the contract and goes to spurs. He is a heaps good keeper. And Dembele is beast, did you see him play against Man U on the weekend, he destroyed in attack and defence.

Great signing today now would like to see a new and younger keeper in. Don’t want Van Der Vaart to go. AVB do something Redknapp didn’t do win a throphy
