Tottenham welcome Wigan Athletic to White Hart Lane on Saturday looking to cement their place in the top four.

After a disappointing start, Andre Villas-Boas’ side have won five of their last six Premier League games to leave them sitting fourth in the table – five points off leaders Chelsea.

Spurs will be looking to put Wednesday night’s 2-1 Capital One Cup defeat to Norwich behind them after they threw away a 1-goal lead with less than 10 minutes remaining to crash out the cup.

Wigan head into the game off the back of a surprise defeat themselves after being beaten by League Two side Bradford on penalties.

Roberto Martinez’s side are 15th in the table and will be looking to build upon their first home win of the season last week – a 2-1 victory over West Ham.

Team News

Tottenham are without midfielder Mousa Dembele and Villas-Boas fears he could be without the Belgian for up to six weeks if he requires surgery on a hip complaint.

Emmanuel Adebayor is back in contention after overcoming illness but Jake Livermore may miss out with an ankle injury.  Scott Parker, Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Younes Kaboul all remain sidelined.

Roberto Martinez is likely to be without Arsenal loanee Ryo Miyaichi after the Japanese international failed to recover from a groin problem.  Defender Antolin Alcaraz and winger Albert Crusat are also ruled out of the clash.

It’s about time Lloris was used as number 1 keeper. He is the future, why delay it?
