Luka Modric talked to tottenhamhotspur.com about the team’s winning attitude after Sunday’s victory . It was the sixth time this season when Spurs had come from behind in the Barclays Premier League, winning five and drawing one.
After an epic comeback against Arsenal at Emirates, Spurs managed to pull a rabbit once more, this time against Liverpool to win the game.
On Sunday, Liverpool took the lead through Skrtel in the 42nd minute and the Reds could have scored at least two more. Yet, Spurs bounced back and got the 3 points. The fans had to endure Bale’s effort cleared off the line and Defoe’s missed penalty, before Modric’s build-up of the equalizer and Lennon’s winner.
According to tottenhamhotspur.com, Modric said:
“It was a great result for us. We needed to be better in the first half, we were sloppy but we also created chances.
In the second half we were much, much better and the goal lifted us. Azza then scored a great goal.
It showed again that we have character, great spirit, we never give up and always fight to the last minute.
It’s good to know that when you are down, you can turn it around.
We never lose confidence when we’re losing, we know we can come back and we’ve showed that many times. It’s good to know we can do that.”
Spurs will now face Birmingham at St. Andrews stadium and hope to win another 3 vital points.
