Man Utd vs Arsenal Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Predicted Score
Man Utd take on Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon. Here’s a preview with team news, likely line-ups, betting tips and predicted score for the game
Arsenal will be looking to give their title challenge a major boost when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Arsene Wenger will need to pick his players up following Tuesday night’s disappointing 2-0 defeat to Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
It’s league matters that will be the focus tomorrow and the Gunners got their title charge back on track with a vital last minute win over Leicester City two weeks ago, so they’ll be looking to build on that win on Sunday.
However, Old Trafford hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for the North Londoners in recent years as they haven’t won at the Theater of Dreams since 2006 so they’re going to have to improve on that form if they want to leave with all three points tomorrow.
United head in to the game off the back of consecutive wins over Shrewsbury and Midtjylland and Louis van Gaal knows his side need a win to cut the gap on the top four – which currently stands at six points.

Team news
United have been handed a major injury boost with the news that David De Gea is expected to be passed fit to return after missing the last three games with a knee problem.
Chris Smalling is also hoping to make his comeback from a minor shoulder injury but Cameron Borthwick-Jackson is expected to miss out with a knock.
Anthony Martial is also a major doubt for the game after suffering a hamstring problem during the warm-up on Thursday night so youngster Marcus Rashford could keep his place after scoring twice on his debut.
Marcos Rojo is back in contention after making his long-awaited comeback in midweek but Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw, Wayne Rooney, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Marouane Fellaini and Bastian Schweinsteiger all remain on the treatment table.
Arsenal will be without Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after he suffered a serious knee injury against Barcelona on Tuesday but Gabriel is expected to return after missing the last three games with a hamstring injury.
Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla are stepping up their comebacks but this game comes too soon so they remain on the sidelines along with Tomas Rosicky.
Danny Welbeck is pushing for a start against his former club after making a successful comeback from a knee injury in recent weeks.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Man Utd 1-1 Arsenal: Arsenal arrive at Old Trafford as the bookmakers favourites but it’s easy to forget that despite their inconsistent form, United have conceded just 5 goals at home all season. When you also consider the Gunners have failed to score in 5 of their last 8 games, this should be a low-scoring game, so I’m going for a 1-1 draw.
Betting Tips
Arsenal are the narrow 29/20 favourites to win the game but Football-Talk can get you enhanced odds of 9/1 on a home win or 7/1 on an away win – just click here to take advantage of these crazy odds. However, I think it’s going to end 1-1 and my prediction is on offer at 11/2 while I also like the look of Alexis Sanchez to open the scoring at 6/1. If you combined those two bets in a score-cast then we get very tempting odds of 35/1.
