Brazilian Ace’s Camp Reveal Transfer Talks Amid Arsenal, Chelsea & Man Utd Interest
Marquinhos’ brother has confirmed that several clubs are in talks with the PSG defender over a potential move with Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd interested
The opening of the summer transfer window is fast approaching so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, several clubs are linked with Marquinhos….
Marquinhos’ brother has confirmed that several clubs are in talks with the PSG defender over a potential move with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United among those interested, according to the Daily Star.
The Brazilian international has fallen out-of-favour at Paris Saint-Germain with boss Laurent Blanc opting for David Luiz alongside Thiago Silva in the centre of defence over the past two seasons.
Even when he has started, Marquinhos has been forced to play at right-back and the lack of regular first team football in his preferred position has led to speculation that Marquinhos is ready to look for a new challenge this summer.
Understandably, there will be no shortage of interest and the Daily Star claim that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are among the clubs keen on luring Marquinhos to the Premier League at the end of the season.
It looks like clubs are already making their interest known as the newspaper carries quotes, which originate from French outlet Canal+, from the players brother, Luan Aoas Correa, who claims that several clubs have already made contact with defenders camp to discuss a possible move this summer.
“There are a lot of clubs who are interested in Marquinhos.”
“They have already spoken with me. With the club, Marquinhos’ agent, myself and my father we will make a decision.”
If Marquinhos does decide to leave PSG this summer then there is sure to be interest from throughout Europe as he’s one of the best young defenders around so the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and United are likely to face stiff competition for his signature.
However, the player himself recently confirmed that he’d love to try his luck here in England as he feels the Premier League is the best league in the world.
Marquinhos is quoted as saying by the Daily Star last month:
“The Premier League is the number one best league in the world.”
“It’s very competitive football. It’d be fantastic to have this opportunity one day.”
Arsenal could certainly do with another top class centre-back to play alongside Laurent Koscielny next season but you have to wonder whether Arsene Wenger would be prepared to pay the kind of money it will take to land Marquinhos.
The Independent reported earlier this month that the bidding is expected to start at around £40m, and I personally don’t think that Arsenal will pay that sort of money for a defender, so it could leave Chelsea and United to battle it out.

The Blues are going to undertake a complete squad overhaul this summer under new boss Antonio Conte and Marquinhos would be the ideal long-term replacement for John Terry at Stamford Bridge.
However, United also need to bring in someone to play alongside Chris Smalling and while Louis van Gaal’s future is uncertain, whoever is in charge this summer would surely be interested in signing a player of Marquinhos’ quality.
