Some of the Manchester United players have been celebrating on Twitter after they boosted their top four hopes by beating Norwich City 1-0 at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon.
The game was certainly not a classic by any stretch of the imagination and a very forgettable first half ended at 0-0 with both sides struggling to create any clear cut chances.
Things didn’t get much better after the break but United eventually broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute when Wayne Rooney teed-up Juan Mata and the Spaniard made no mistake to score what would turn out to be the winner with the visitors first shot on target.
Despite a subdued performance, it was the result that mattered and it saw United boost their Champions League qualification hopes after moving to within just one point of Manchester City ahead of their clash with Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Some of the players have taken to Twitter to celebrate the vital win, with Antonio Valencia, Memphis Depay, Andreas Pereira, Juan Mata, David De Gea, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera all posting messages and sharing photos on the social network.
