Mahrez To Join Arsenal In £37m Deal After Agreeing Personal Terms
Riyah Mahrez is expected to complete a £37m move to Arsenal over the coming days with personal terms already agreed with the Leicester City attacker
The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Riyad Mahrez is close to joining Arsenal…
Riyah Mahrez is expected to complete a £37m move to Arsenal over the coming days with personal terms already agreed with the Leicester City attacker, according to Algerian outlet Le Buteur.
Mahrez has emerged as a key target for Arsene Wenger after scoring 17 goals as well as providing 10 assists to help Leicester march towards a shock Premier League title win last season.
Reports from Eurosport FR last week suggested that the 25-year-old had decided to leave the King Power this summer and had chosen Arsenal as his next destination following talks between Wenger and his agent Kamel Bengougam.
It appears the proposed move is now edging closer to completion as reports coming from Algerian outlet Le Buteur claim that a journalist close to Arsenal has informed them that Mahrez will complete a £37m move to the Emirates within the next few days.
Claudio Ranieri has been desperately trying to persuade the Algerian international to remain with Leicester and the newspaper says that the clubs owners sent a delegation to meet Mahrez to try and convince him to sign a new deal but the attacker made it clear he wants to leave for Arsenal.
Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to continue but Le Buteur say that Mahrez has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and the £37m deal should be wrapped-up soon.
As with any transfer story, we need to take this report with a pinch of salt until something concrete comes out but obviously I’d absolutely love for this to be true and to see Mahrez join Arsenal this summer.
We desperately need to bring in attacking reinforcements and while an out-and-out striker should be a priority, a wide attacker is also needed and there was nobody better than Mahrez in the Premier League last season.

If we do end up signing the PFA Player of the Year, it will cast fresh doubts over the future of Theo Walcott with the England international tipped to leave north London this summer after losing his place in Wenger’s starting eleven.
