Man Utd Agree Mega £15m-A-Year Deal With Arsenal Target Ahead Of Summer Move
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Arsenal target Antoine Griezmann worth £15m-per-season ahead of an £85m switch from Atletico Madrid
The January transfer window is now closed but we can still look at deals that failed to get across the line and those being lined-up for the summer. Today, Man Utd close in on Antoine Griezmann…
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Antoine Griezmann worth around £15m-per-season ahead of a potential £85m switch from Atletico Madrid this summer, according to a report in the Telegraph.
Griezmann has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League after developing in to one of the best strikers in the world since joining Atletico from Real Sociedad in the summer of 2014.
The French international was recently voted the third best player in the world behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi while he was also named as the Player of the Tournament at Euro 2016.
The 25-year-old has scored 72 goals and provided a further 20 assists in his 136 appearances for Madrid so far and understandably his form has caught the attention of clubs here in England.
The Daily Mail reported last week that Arsenal were ready to battle-it-out with Manchester United over Griezmann’s signature with the north Londoners supposedly ready to offer the striker a deal worth around £250,000-a-week.
Arsene Wenger is eyeing-up potential replacements for Alexis Sanchez in-case the Chilean refuses to sign a new deal and the Gunners are forced to cash-in this summer, with Griezmann identified as the perfect player to fill his boots at the Emirates.
However, it looks like United have now stolen a march on Arsenal as the Telegraph are citing reports coming from France that claim the Red Devils have now agreed personal terms in principal with Griezmann’s camp.
The newspaper says that a contract worth around £15m-per-season has been discussed and Griezmann has indicated his willingness to move to Old Trafford if/when United trigger his £85m buyout clause this summer.
It’s understood that Griezmann would be given the iconic No.7 shirt at Old Trafford if he does complete a move and his friendship with Paul Pogba has played a key role in luring him to Manchester.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but obviously Griezmann would be a superb signing for United as he’d be a long-term replacement for the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney.
The news will come as a huge blow to Arsenal but realistically the north Londoners were never going to be able to compete with the kind of wages United could offer so the Red Devils were always favourites to secure his signature.
