Tottenham Team News: Poch Offers Positive Update On Key Duo + Attacker A Doubt
Mauricio Pochettino has offered a positive update on two of his key men but an attacker is a doubt for Tottenham’s trip to Burnley this weekend
Tottenham will look to cement their position in the top four when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.
Ahead of the game, Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this afternoon and he’s given reporters a team news and injury update.
The Spurs boss has confirmed that Danny Rose is due to be assessed this week as the full-back looks to make his return from a knee ligament injury that’s kept him out since the 0-0 draw with Sunderland on January 31st.
Rose has made steady progress in his recovery and while he’s certain to miss upcoming games against the likes of Burnley, Swansea and Watford, the defender will be hoping to return in time for the FA Cup semi final with Chelsea next month.
Pochettino also revealed positive news on Harry Kane as the striker is recovering well from his ankle ligament injury and has started light work on the training pitch this week.
Kane has been out since the suffering the injury during the FA Cup win over Millwall earlier this month and the 24-goal hitman is on course to make his comeback in April.
However, Spurs have a fresh fitness concern to contend with as Vincent Janssen will be assessed tomorrow after picking up a chest infection while away on international duty with Holland.
Pochettino told reporters today:

The only other piece of team news for Tottenham is that Erik Lamela has been ruled out for the rest of the season after failing to overcome a troublesome hip injury that’s kept him out since the end of October.
