Chelsea vs Sunderland: Preview, Team News, Line-Ups, Betting Tips & Prediction
Chelsea take on Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Here is a preview with team news, line-ups, betting tips and predicted score
Chelsea will celebrate winning the Premier League title when they take on Sunderland at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues wrapped-up their fifth title with a win at West Bromwich Albion two weeks ago but they will officially be handed the trophy tomorrow so it’s sure to be a party atmosphere in west London.
Antonio Conte’s men moved on to 90 points with a thrilling win over Watford in midweek so Chelsea will be hoping to finish on 93 with their 27th win from their last 32 games.
Sunderland head in to the game having seen their 10-year stay in the top flight come to an end and David Moyes’ side slumped to yet another defeat in midweek – this time at Arsenal.
Team News
Conte has no injury concerns to worry about and while he played a weakened side against Watford last time out, the Italian coach could revert back to his first choice eleven to prepare for next week’s FA Cup final.
That may see John Terry left out of what will be his final appearance in a Chelsea shirt at Stamford Bridge but I’m sure Conte will give the long-serving skipper some playing time in order to give the fans a chance to say goodbye.
Sunderland will be without Victor Anichebe due to a hamstring injury while George Honeyman is out with a back problem. Paddy McNair, Jan Kirchhoff and Duncan Watmore are all long-term injury absentees.
Likely Line-Ups
Predicted Score
Chelsea 3-0 Sunderland: The Blues have been in formidable form for months and I don’t see them letting-up against relegated Sunderland tomorrow. Chelsea will be keen to retain their form heading in to the Arsenal cup final so I think they’ll ease to a comfortable victory over the Black Cats to celebrate lifting the title in style.
Betting Tips
Chelsea are the 1/7 favourites with the bookies but for those who want a little more value then here are some other bets I like the look of:
- Both teams to score NO at: 7/10 – a £10 bet would return £17
- Exact score of 3-0 Chelsea at: 6/1 – a £10 bet would return £70
- Pedro to score first in a 3-0 Chelsea win at: 20/1 – a £10 bet would return £210
