Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to try and scupper Tottenham’s attempts to sign Davinson Sanchez with the London trio now all battling to land the Ajax defender this summer, according to Football London.
Sanchez began his career at Colombian side Atletico Nacional but has developed in to one of the most highly-rated young centre-backs in Europe since joining Ajax last summer.
The 21-year-old enjoyed a superb debut campaign in Holland as he impressed during his 43 appearances to help Ajax finish just one point behind eventual champions Feyenoord in the Eredivisie table.
The Colombian international has attracted interest from the Premier League and it looked like a move to White Hart Lane was on the cards as the Daily Mail claim Tottenham are in talks with Ajax trying to thrash out a £28m deal.
Mauricio Pochettino has vowed to be active during the closing stages of the window as he’s yet to make a single signing so far and the Spurs manager has seemingly earmarked Sanchez as a prime target.
However, Tottenham are now facing stiff competition as Football London are citing a report from De Telegraaf that claims Arsenal and Chelsea are ready to hijack their rivals proposed deal.
The Dutch publication says the London duo, together with the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, are now lining-up offers of their own after Sanchez was left out of the Ajax squad for their game at Heracles on Saturday night.
Ajax boss Marcel Keizer decided to axe Sanchez from his plans at the weekend as he felt the player wasn’t mentally prepared to play and it seems clubs are now taking this as a sure sign he’s looking for a move.
Arsene Wenger saw his side concede three times during their opening win over Leicester and with the future’s of Gabriel and Calum Chambers in doubt, the Gunners boss could be eyeing Sanchez as the man to tighten up his back three.

However, Chelsea are also expected to be busy over the coming weeks with Antonio Conte desperate to further strengthen his squad and the Blues have the financial firepower to compete with any team for Sanchez’s signature.
The youngster is predominantly a central defender but he’s also capable of playing right-back so he’d give the likes of Pochettino, Wenger or Conte plenty of options if he was to make a move to London before the end of the month.
