German Star Names Arsenal, Man Utd & Chelsea Among Clubs He’d Like To Join

The transfer window is now closed but clubs are already thinking ahead to January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Timo Werner is eyeing a move to one of Europe’s top clubs…
RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner has confirmed he’s keen on joining a big European club and named Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United among those he’d be interested in moving to, according to the Express.
Werner made his name at Stuttgart after coming through the youth ranks at his hometown club before earning a move to RB Leipzig in the summer of 2016.
The 21-year-old made an immediate impact as he provided 21 goals and 7 assists in just 31 games to help Leipzig finish second in the Bundesliga table behind champions Bayern Munich.
The striker has also become a regular in the German national team with 6 goals in his 8 caps so far while he’s already netted 4 goals in 4 appearances for his club this season.
Understandably, Werner’s sensational form has attracted plenty of interest from some of Europe’s top clubs with several teamS linked with a move for the young hitman during the recent summer window.
Werner is tied to Leipzig until 2020 and his contract doesn’t include a release clause so any potential suitor will need to pay big money to persuade Leipzig in to a deal.
The striker has confirmed that he’d like to join a ‘big club’ one day and he name-checked the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd as clubs he could join if he moved to the Premier League.
However, Werner has also hinted he could move to Spain with the German forward naming Real Madrid, Barcelona or Atletico Madrid as potential destinations in La Liga.
Werner is quoted by the Express as telling Sport Bild:
“So far, I have progressed very well with Leipzig. That is why I do not think what is ahead in one, two or three years.
“Of course I want to play at a big club. But, we have not yet come to terms with the development at Leipzig. Perhaps RB will be a big club too – I’m quite sure.
“In Spain there are a maximum of three clubs with Barca, Real and Atletico Madrid. In England there are a few more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.
“FC Bayern is also a big club, but for me it is not a topic that I am concerned with.”
I expect Werner will be a name we hear a lot more of over the coming season and speculation will continue to link him with a move to England if he keeps-up his excellent goal-scoring form.

All of the Premier League big-hitters have the financial muscle to compete for his signature and I’d love to see Werner join the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea or United next summer.
