Arsenal have qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League despite being held to a poor 0-0 draw by Red Star Belgrade at the Emirates this evening.
A much-changed Arsenal team almost broke the deadlock in the 10th minute when Olivier Giroud saw his low shot at the near post well saved by the Red Star keeper.
The Frenchman then saw another effort smothered before Matt Macey pulled off a superb save to keep the score at 0-0 as he tipped a Savic header on to the bar in the 34th minute.
Jack Wilshere then saw his goal-bound chip cleared off the line as Arsenal continued to push for a winner while Red Star also had a couple of great chances on the break.
However, there was to be no goals so we had to settle for a 0-0 draw and with Cologne beating BATE in tonight’s other game, Arsenal have booked their place in the last 32 of the competition.
