Transfer gossip: Arsenal are tipped to sign a £6m international midfielder while Manchester United are due to hold talks with Antoine Griezmann….
The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Jakub Jankto while Man Utd are stepping up their interest in Antoine Griezmann….
Arsenal in pole position to land Jankto
First up and the Mirror are reporting that Arsenal are ready to complete a deal to sign £6m-rated Udinese midfielder Jakub Jankto.
The 21-year-old joined the Udinese youth set-up in 2014 having spent the early stages of his career in his homeland with Czech Republic side Slavia Prague.
Jankto broke in to the Udinese first team in 2015 and after spending a year on loan at Ascoli, he’s now an established regular having made 13 appearances in all competitions so far this season.
The versatile midfielder caught the attention of Arsenal last summer and the Mirror claim Arsene Wenger has now renewed his interest in signing the Czech Republic international.
The likes of AC Milan and Juventus are also understood to be showing a keen interest but the newspaper is citing a report from Calcio Mercato that claims Arsenal are in pole position and are closing in on a deal to sign Jankto.
Wenger has now made his move having watched the player for over a year and the Gunners could snap-up the talented midfielder on the cheap as the report says Jankto has just a £6m buyout clause in his contract.

That would be a bargain for a player of his potential in today’s market so Wenger will have pulled off something of a coup if he manages to get the proposed deal over the line.
United boss to hold Griezmann talks
Next up and TeamTalk are reporting that Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is due to fly out to Spain to hold talks over a possible deal to sign Antoine Griezmann.
United were strongly linked with a move for the French international last summer but Griezmann pulled out of the deal after Atletico Madrid were slapped with a transfer ban which meant they couldn’t sign a replacement.
Speculation surrounding the strikers future has been rekindled in recent weeks after Griezmann released an autobiography in which he admits he could be interested in moving to Old Trafford.
TeamTalk are now citing a report from the Daily Star that claims Mourinho is ready to test Griezmann’s desire to join United by flying out to Spain to hold face-to-face talks with the player.
The 26-year-old is expected to finally leave the Vicente Calderon at the end of the season and the newspaper says United are ready to activate his £88m [€100m] release clause in order to get a deal agreed.

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic expected to leave United in the summer, Mourinho is going to need to sign another forward and Griezmann would be an excellent signing if they could lure him to Old Trafford.
