Man Utd Join Arsenal & Liverpool In Chase To Sign £90m Attacker
Manchester United have joined Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Monaco’s £90m-rated attacker Thomas Lemar
The January transfer window is just around the corner meaning clubs are working hard on potential deals so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd join the chase for Thomas Lemar…
Manchester United have joined Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Monaco’s £90m-rated attacker Thomas Lemar, according to the Daily Star.
Lemar became one of the most sought after attackers in Europe after providing 14 goals and 17 assists to help fire Monaco to the Ligue 1 title last season.
The 22-year-old attracted strong interest from Arsenal and Liverpool during the summer with Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev confirming in October that both clubs made attempts to secure Lemar’s signature on deadline day.
The duo are being tipped to renew their interest with the Independent reporting last week that Liverpool are confident they are in pole position ahead of Arsenal to land the French international.
Jurgen Klopp is on the look out for another attacking midfielder with Philippe Coutinho constantly being linked with a move to Barcelona and it seems the Liverpool boss is lining-up Lemar as a potential replacement.
Arsene Wenger also needs to rejuvenate his attacking options as Alexis Sanchez is set to leave after failing to sign a new contract and Lemar is seemingly on the Arsenal managers radar.
However, Liverpool and Arsenal may now face fresh competition as the Daily Star claim that Man Utd have now joined the race to sign Lemar after Jose Mourinho identified him as a transfer target.
The newspaper is citing a report from Yahoo! Sport that says Mourinho has named Lemar on a four-man short list of attacking targets along with Justin Kluivert, Christian Pulisic and Malcom.
All four players are exciting young talents but Lemar is arguably the most established name on the list and would be the most difficult to sign given his price tag and the competition United would face.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but I think Lemar would be an excellent addition for Arsenal, Liverpool or United if any of those clubs were able to lure him to England.
