Monaco forward Nabil Alioui is set to visit Arsenal’s London Colney training base after the Gunners held transfer talks with his agent over a summer move, according to reports in France via the Metro.
Unai Emery has splashed around £70m on five new signings as he looks to revamp the squad he inherited from Arsene Wenger with Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi all arriving in big-money deals in recent weeks.
However, Emery and head of recruitment Sven Mislintat have also been looking to the future with a number of youngsters also joining the club this summer and it looks like we’re ready to try and snap-up another one of Europe’s most highly-rated teens.
The Metro are citing a report from RMC Sport that claims Arsenal have identified Alioui as a potential addition to the academy and have already held talks with the forwards agent about a switch to the Emirates.
The French publication says the 19-year-old is now due to travel to north London next week to visit Arsenal’s London Colney training facilities and hold further talks about a possible move to England.
Alioui is currently in Finland representing France at the Under-19 European Championships where he’s scored two goals in the tournament so far but the teenager is expected to make his way to London once the competition is over.
However, Arsenal aren’t the only club in the running as the report says Manchester City are also showing a keen interest in the Monaco star and hope to use their relationship with Alioui’s agent Patrick De Koster – who also represents Kevin De Bruyne – to their advantage.
Alioui has come through the ranks at Monaco but has not agreed terms over a professional contract so Arsenal and City are keen to take advantage of the situation by trying to lure him to the Premier League this summer.
The report says Monaco are desperate to tie Alioui down to pro terms and then loan him to Cercle Brugge for this coming season but it remains to be seen whether the youngster will be tempted by a switch to England.

If he does come to these shores, then Arsenal or City would only have to pay Monaco a minimal compensation fee which would be great business considering Alioui is one of the hottest prospects in French football.
