£53m Attacker Ready To Snub Arsenal & Liverpool In Order To Join Chelsea In January
Bayer Leverkusen’s £53.4m-rated attacker Leon Bailey is ready to snub Arsenal and Liverpool in favour of joining Chelsea in January
The transfer window may be closed but managers are already planning for January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip. Today, Leon Bailey is ready to snub Arsenal and Liverpool for Chelsea move…
Bayer Leverkusen’s £53.4m-rated attacker Leon Bailey is ready to snub Arsenal and Liverpool in favour of joining Chelsea in January, according to reports in Germany via TeamTalk.
Bailey has developed into one of the most in-demand youngsters in world football since joining Leverkusen from Genk in January 2017 and he provided 12 goals and 6 assists last season to help the Germans finish fifth in the Bundesliga table.
The 21-year-old’s immense potential has caught the attention of several top clubs with TeamTalk claiming that Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are among those to have registered their interest in signing Bailey in recent months.
Arsenal have looked short of options in wide areas since Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott left back in January so Unai Emery could be eyeing Bailey as the man to add some genuine width to his squad.
Liverpool have bags of quality on the wings but Jurgen Klopp knows he needs a large squad if they’re to compete on all fronts and with Mo Salah constantly linked with a big-money move to Spain, Bailey is seemingly on the Merseysiders’ radar.
However, Arsenal and Liverpool could be set to miss out as TeamTalk are citing a report from Kicker that claims Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Bailey as his preferred destination is Stamford Bridge.
The German publication says Maurizio Sarri has set his sights on signing the Jamaican international in January and a deal could be struck with Leverkusen if the Blues put £53.4m [€60m] on the table.
Kicker believe Bayern Munich are also watching Bailey’s situation closely but Chelsea appear to be in pole position to sign the exciting attacker as they prepare for life without Eden Hazard amid fears he’s running his contract down to secure a move to Real Madrid.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months and although Chelsea seem to be favourites, Bailey would be an exciting signing for any of the English clubs being linked if they could get a deal agreed.
