“He Wants To Leave” – Arsenal, Liverpool & Tottenham Cleared To Sign 23-y/o Star
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have been given the all-clear to sign Adrien Rabiot after he told PSG he will leave the club at the end of the season
The January transfer window is just around the corner and managers are working hard on possible deals or identifying targets for the summer so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest rumours. Today, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are handed a boost over Adrien Rabiot….
Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham have been given the all-clear to battle over the signature of Adrien Rabiot after he told Paris Saint-Germain he will leave the club at the end of the season, according to Football London.
Rabiot has been with PSG since joining the clubs youth system as a child and has progressed through the ranks to become one of the most highly-rated young midfielders in European football in recent years.
However, the 23-year-old’s future at the Parc des Prince has been in serious doubt as he’s inside the final year of his contract and the French champions have struggled to agree terms over an extension.
It led to speculation linking Rabiot with a move away from Paris last summer but the Ligue 1 giants decided to hold on to the midfielder in the hope of persuading him to sign a new deal during the season.
However, those hopes have been dashed as PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has confirmed Rabiot has informed the club he won’t sign a new deal as he wants to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer.
Speaking to Yahoo Sport, Henrique said:
“The player [Rabiot] informed me that he would not sign a contract and that he wants to leave the club by being free at the end of the season, ie at the end of his contract. For the player, this will have a very clear consequence: he will remain on the bench for an indefinite period.”
The situation has alerted a number of Premier League clubs with Football London claiming that Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are all showning a keen interest in signing Rabiot for nothing at the end of the season.
Gunners boss Unai Emery is in the middle of a rebuilding job at the Emirates and he could view Rabiot as a potential replacement for Aaron Ramsey with the Welshman set to leave when his contract expires in June 2019.
Liverpool recently invested heavily in Naby Keita and Fabinho but with James Milner coming towards the end of his contract and Jordan Henderson struggling with niggling injuries, Jurgen Klopp is seemingly eyeing another midfielder and Rabiot is on his radar.
However, Tottenham are also reportedly in the running and Mauricio Pochettino could be eyeing a bargain swoop for Rabiot as the club’s finances have been restricted due to the rising costs of their new stadium.
Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs could sign a pre-contract agreement with the French international in January ahead of a free transfer switch in the summer and Rabiot would be a superb signing for any of the English trio.
However, they’ll face stiff competition from Spain as Football London claim Barcelona are the bookmakers favourites ahead of Arsenal to sign Rabiot at the end of the season.
