Team News: Tottenham Confirm Key Man Could Be Among 5 Players To Miss Wolves Game
Tottenham have confirmed a key man could be one of five players to miss Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves at Wembley.
Tottenham will be looking to close the gap on Liverpool with a win when they welcome Wolves to Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
The north Londoners have provided a full team news and injury update ahead of the game with the latest on the fitness of Dele Alli, Mousa Dembele, Serge Aurier, Victor Wanyama, Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen.
Alli missed the 5-0 thrashing of Bournemouth on Boxing Day after picking up a hamstring issue against Everton and the midfielder remains a doubt for the visit of Wolves to London this weekend.
Dembele is closing-in on making his comeback from an ankle injury that’s kept him out for over a month but the Wolves game on Saturday will come too soon for the Belgian international.
Dier is set to resume full training after having his appendix removed earlier this month but the midfielder isn’t expected to be available until after the New Year so he remains on the sidelines this weekend.
Vertonghen is also not due to be available again for Tottenham until next month as he continues his recovery from a thigh injury while Wanyama is still working his way back from a long-term knee problem.
It means that if Alli is ruled out on Saturday, then Mauricio Pochettino will be without five key players for the visit of Wolves but there is some positive news as Aurier is expected to be back in contention after returning to full training from a groin injury.

Tottenham head in to the weekend action sitting second in the Premier League table after scoring 11 goals in their last two games so Pochettino will be looking for a win to reduce Liverpool’s gap to three points ahead of their clash with Arsenal.
