TRANSFER NEWS: Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool
Plenty of transfer rumours flying about recently involving Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal, so here are a few stories for you.
Every player linked to Chelsea
Well, this is quite a way to start with today’s transfer gossip column. But The Sun has reported that Chelsea are all set to go on a crazy spending spree of around £80 million this summer.
There wish-list includes Cesc Fabregas, Gareth Bale, Gregory van der Wiel, Wesley Sneijder, Thomas Muller, Adam Johnson, Matt Jarvis, Ashley Young, Jack Rodwell, Marouane Fellaini, Luka Modric and Andrey Arshavin.
I wouldn’t bet on this happening, but then again, Abramovic might just prove me wrong! Apparently, he’s gone behind Ancelotti’s back (once again) and is planning his own Transfer Shopping Spree.
Marouane Chamakh, Arsenal FC to QPR
Well, perhaps not what Arsenal fans were expecting but CaughtOffside has been quoting several sources and they reckon that this move might go through with QPR set to join the big-time next season.
The rumoured transfer fee required to take the Moroccan away from the Emirates would be roughly in the region of 12 million pounds. Apparently, compatriot Adel Taarabt is trying to lure him to a move to Queens Park Rangers. Well, not a bad fee for a man who arrived at Arsenal for free, and has seemed to somewhat lose his way following Van Persie’s return to action.
Adel Taarabt, QPR to Liverpool
From Taarabt luring Chamakh to Arsenal, we’ve got another report here that Damien Comolli is considering a move to sign the Moroccan midfielder. Apparently, Comolli is a rumoured fan of the player and the club are currently weighing up their options.
Taarabt is valued at 10 million pounds and he can operate as either a winger or behind the striker in the ‘hole’, like Joe Cole, Dirk Kuyt and Maxi Rodriguez. Although Liverpool will need to fight off some competition, as many are interested in the attacking midfielder, with Lazio apparently favourites to get his signature.
