Liverpool: South American Duo Forming Fearsome Partnership
Luis Suarez and Maxi Rodriguez are proving to be a real handful to opposition and this has been epitomized in the last few games.
Is it just me or did Luis Suarez arrive at nearly the exact time that Rodriguez has come back to form? Well, look at the stats, the game that Rodriguez first scored a hat-trick in Liverpool colours was in fact his first (or maybe his second) start alongside the Uruguayan, Luis Suarez.
Now Rodriguez has two hat-tricks in three games and Suarez has been in top form, making something out of nothing. Not only does Suarez know where the net is, but he is capable of picking out a pass.
As of now, Suarez has more assists than he has goals for Liverpool, and that says quite a bit already. Rodriguez has also awakened from his slumber and is peaking at nearly the perfect time for himself: right before the summer transfer window reopens.
It looks as if Dalglish will be intent on keeping the Argentinian for at least a year longer, after seeing the results of the winger’s confidence being renewed and the work rate being and desire now being shown by Maxi.
He has even won this month’s ‘Castrol Edge’ award, which is awarded to the most on-form player each month. Over here it claims that:
He netted his three goals from just four shots on target and had one other attempt blocked en route to goal. Maxi completed 24 of his 26 attempted passes in the game and didn’t neglect his defensive duties; he won possession with all five of the tackles he attempted and made three further interceptions in Liverpool’s biggest win of the season.
