Liverpool’s Henderson Deal Backfires

By on June 10, 2011

It looks like Sunderland are now in the chase for the talented young English striker Connor Wickham, providing Liverpool with even more competition for the English prospect.

Apparently, following Liverpool’s 20 million signing of Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson, it looks like Sunderland are now intent on signing the Liverpool target with that money. This means that part of Liverpool’s plans have backfired, as they were rumoured to be making Wickham their top priority now.

Liverpool are indeed spending big the summer, with John W. Henry looking happy to fund any transfers necessary for the team to improve in the summer. He has already supported the transfer signings of both Suarez and Andy Carroll alongside new signings this summer such as Henderson, and a relatively lower profile signing, Irish 15 year old Alex O’Hanlon, who has been dubbed the ‘new Gareth Bale’ for his attacking runs down the left flank.

Along with Wickham, Liverpool are also linked with several other players, with the list including M’vila, Sevilla’s Diego Perotti, and many others. So what do you guys think about all this transfer activity? Are these good moves made by Kenny Dalglish? Well, for all that, write your thoughts in the comments section below!

The media make me laugh! one minute “Liverpool are paying for Man Utd to buy Jones” (because Sunderland spend the Henderson money on Man Utd players thus funding their move for Jones, the next minute they are funding Sunderland’s gazumping of their other target Wickham! You guys!

Liverpool have more money and not much sense. 20 mil for a average english midfield player… If this is right fabregas and wilshire are worth 500 mil at least

Guys, why are we bashing him; he has some merit on this. Conor ‘ll never choose Sunderland over LFC, but Ipswich ‘ll, as long as S’Land pays more. Now, with 20m soft cash (I don’t think JH would have costed more than half of this amount, had he not been English)S’Land can offer obnoxious amount for a replacement of Bent, with an assured starting position.

Again, that doesn’t mean CW is not coming to Anfield, but certainly ‘ll cost us few more millions, just like SAF had to pay around 16.5 mn, instead of 12~14.

What an idiot !! The media seem to be forgeting that sunderland still have 24m off the sale of darren bent and man u (apparently) have 80m in the bank still off the ronaldo sale so how possibly can liverpool be funding their transfers ???

I don’t understand what the ‘author’ is trying to say – is he even serious? Surely not.

I think some people will just try and beat Liverpool with anything at the moment as they have nothing better to do and NO bad news coming through the media about Liverpool. The easy thing to then is make something up, as the author has done here, and not very well either.

Come on lad, get serious, this is really, really pathetic. Absolutely pathetic of you to even try to make something like this stick.

Now go out and find a girl to spend time with…

Just another poor journo of crap by someone that is obviously anti Liverpool and cannot write from a neutral perspective.

I feel sorry for the person that dreamed up the article because they obviously need to get a life.

    2/10 must try harder.

keep posting so that we can piss ourselves laughing.
What you really meant to say was Sunderland are saving up to 150mil to persuade Ronaldo to possibly go to them instead of City!
