Arsenal Transfer News: Two Signings Close | Gunners Struggle To Agree Striker Fee
It has been another incredible couple of days of transfer news, speculation, rumors, and gossip surrounding the Gunners. There are some fascinating headlines and updates on the situations of both Gervinho and Chris Samba. Without further ado, here is the Arsenal Transfer News Roundup.
Gervinho to sign for the Gunners in a matter of days
Finally, it looks like Gervinho will become a Gunner within the next few days. The reported fee is around 10.6 million pounds, which is much less than what Lille asked for, which is around 15 million pounds. Well done Wenger….. great addition at a cost much lower than was expected.

Samba is getting closer to Arsenal move
Reported by the We Are the North Bank and by the Goon Blog, Chris Samba is getting closer for a move to the Gunners. Samba has been heavily linked for a move to the Gunners and was close for a move to the Gunners in January. The reported bid is around 9 million pounds (again, cost is less than was expected as Samba is valued at around 12 million pounds) and is reportedly expected to conclude by next week. If the reports are true, Samba will be another great addition to the squad. He’s tough, aggressive, tall and a leader which is what the Gunners need.

Arsenal offer Denilson to sign Douglas Costa
This is a bit of a shocker as this news is reported, not by the press, but by Douglas Costa’s agent. His agent stated that Arsenal offered Denilson to Shakhtar for their star player, Douglas Costa, which was rejected. This comes as a surprise to many as there were reports that the Gunners offered Denilson for Douglas Costa’s teammate Willian. Despite the surprise, I’m a little miffed by the rejection. Douglas Costa is a very talented and skillful, who would’ve been a quality addition, but oh well….
Here is a video displaying his talents and skills:

Arsenal struggling to agree fee with Southampton for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
After all the reports and such, that the Chamberlain deal is all but sealed. The reliable Young Guns Blog, come out with a report, stating that the two clubs are still poles apart in agreeing a fee. Personal terms have already been agreed with the player, but the Gunners are still struggling with Southampton over a transfer fee. The Gunners are willing to pay a bit over 10 million pounds for the player, so I’m shocked that Southampton want more for him. 10 million pounds is more than enough in my opinion, especially for a League 1 player.

Arsenal demanding 12 million pounds for Bendtner
Reports are stating that the Gunners are demanding from interested clubs to pay up, 12 million pounds for the want away Danish international. Bendtner is gaining interest from Borussia Dortmund, Sporting Lisbon, Bayern Munich, Besiktas and Inter Milan. I honestly believe we’ll be lucky to find a club willing to pay that sort of money for Bendtner. His valuation in my opinion, shouldn’t exceed 10 million pounds, it’s probably around 7-8 million pounds.

Barcelona unwilling to pay up for Fabregas
Well, we can’t end this roundup without more Fabregas to Barca banter. This time it’s an official comment by their president, Sandro Rosell. Rosell states that Fabregas, is worth less than last year (35 million pounds- which is what Barca offered for him) and that they will not be held for ransom. Obviously as displayed by this disgraceful comment, that Barca don’t appreciate and love Cesc Fabregas as much as we Gooners. Fabregas is worth more than what Barca believe he’s worth and if they are not willing to pay, then piss off.

What do you think? Are you happy with the potential additions of Gervinho and Samba to the squad? Are you disappointed with the rejection of the Douglas Costa bid? Do you think that Bendtner is valued at 12 million pounds? Are Barcelona undervaluing Fabregas? Please share your opinions and thoughts.
Cheers and take care,
