Today, as usual, has been another day full of transfer rumors, news, gossip, and speculation surrounding the Gunners. There is some interesting news regarding Phil Jagielka, so without further ado…. here is the Arsenal Transfer News Roundup.

Jagielka Bid Rejected

The big news today, as it has been confirmed through various reports, including Sky Sports, that a bid of around 10 million pounds for Phil Jagielka has been rejected by his club, Everton. Jagielka, is widely reported to be a long term target for Wenger and that a bid was also rejected for his services last summer, as well.

So after all the widespread rumors and reports, that the Gunners were closing in on Cahill, this news breaks out. Jagielka is an excellent defender as well, but what worries me is his injury problems. Yes, he’s not a 6-foot player, but he’s excellent in the air and is a very good defender overall, so that wouldn’t be a problem in my opinion.

The bid, in my opinion, is a bit off and was unsurprisingly rejected by Everton. Jagielka, though, is certainly not worth 20 million pounds that Everton value him at. He’s worth around 12-15 million pounds, in my opinion.

Arsenal Interested In Young Nepalese Defender

According to TalkSport, the Gunners are fighting with Tottenham for the services of 19 year old (he’s not 18 years old as TalkSport reported it, he’s born on March 1, 1992) , Nepalese central defender, Rohit Chand. Chand plays for Indian side, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited SC and is regarded as one of the best young prospects in Asia.

To be honest, this is the very first time  I’ve heard of this player. From what I’ve read from people who have a good knowledge of this player, they say that’s he’s about 5’10”, the youngest ever to represent Nepal at the age of 16, elegant, has strong positional sense and timing, good with the ball in his feet, calm under pressure, a good tackler, good in the air and that he’s overall, a very bright prospect.

Here’s a video of him in action (his shirt number is 19 and plays with the team that has red as the color for their shirt) and please, if you have more info on this player, please share it:

Arsenal Interested In Cazorla

According to Sky Sports Italia, the Gunners are in talks with Villareal over the signing of Santi Cazorla, who is also interesting both Malaga and Villareal. Cazorla is reportedly valued at around, 18 million pounds.

I’ve always been a big fan of Cazorla’s, he’s a top player, who is very creative, excellent dribbler, great passer, very skillful and dynamic. I would like to see him as a Gunner, but according to reports coming out of Spain, it looks like Malaga are showing some serious interest in him and have begun negotiations with Villareal.

Campbell Update

According to reports coming out of Costa Rica, Arsenal have increased their proposal to Joel Campbell, by increasing his wages and even including life insurance. It looks like that it might’ve tipped into Arsenal’s favor, as according to Costa Rican site, Yashin Quesada, Joel’s father and agent, Humberto Campbell confirmed the deal with the Gunners with several representatives and that it would be finalized after the U-20 World Cup in Colombia.

I really hope that this ends the saga and that he becomes a Gunner soon…can’t stand anymore twists and turns because he seems like a bright, young talent.

What do you think? Should the Gunners pay up for Jagielka? What are your thoughts on Rohit Chand? Would you like to see Cazorla as a Gunner? What are your thoughts on the latest on the Joel Campbell saga?

Please share your thoughts and opinions.
