Fergie Has Finally Found The Man To Replace Paul Scholes
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has denied speculation that the club have issued Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder with an ultimatum.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has denied speculation that the club have issued Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder with an ultimatum, and hinted he may have found a solution to replacing Paul Scholes…from within the club.
Reports circulated over the weekend suggesting the Dutch ace wants to be the highest paid player at Old Trafford with United issuing a final take it or leave it offer. The Scot has again denied the speculation, calling it “Absolute nonsense,” “I have never discussed him. There is nothing new.”
Fergie strongly denies the Sneijder reports and suggests England Under 21 midfielder Tom Cleverley could be the man to replace Scholes.
“It’s an area we have to find a solution for,” he said.
“That is why we played Tom Cleverley today. Physically he is not the strongest but he is wiry and has a great idea of the game.
“He is a good footballer and was our best player today. His discipline was terrific. He is a quick passer of the ball. He has good eyes.
“It was a big night for him. He is a big, strong possibility for us to start the season.”
