Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Given Permission To Talk To M’Villa
Arsene Wenger has been given permission to talk with Rennes midfielder Yann M’Villa, according the The Guardian.
Arsenal have endured a disastrous start to the season and are down to the bare bones with two vital games against Udinese and Man Utd coming up in the next 6 days, and Wenger is keen to add to his squad.
M’Villa has been on his radar for some time and has now broken into the French national team, and would set Arsenal back somewhere in the region of £12-£15m. The 21-year-old is under contract with Rennes until 2015 but according to the Guardian the french side “have allowed Wenger to talk to him” with the view to a transfer.
It remains to be seen whether a deal is thrashed out but Arsenal fans will be buoyed by the fact their manager is actively looking to add quality to their ranks before the window closes.
