Chelsea
Chelsea linked with Brazilian striker
By Football Talk.
Chelsea have once again been linked with a summer move for AC Milan striker Pato, after reports in Italy claim that AC will look to offload the talented forward due to new financial restrictions being introduced at the San Siro.
Chelsea failed with a £39m bid for Pato last summer, but it’s understood Milan would accept £43m for their star man this time round as the club are set to introduce a £3.5m per year salary cap for next season.
The 20-year old Brazilian international has scored 14 goals in 28 appearances this term and it’s no secret that AC Milan old-boy and current Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is a keen admirer of his talents.
It’s understood that owner Roman Abromovich is ready to open the cheque book once again after a period of relatively low spending from The Blues, and Pato could be the first of several big money signings at Stamford Bridge this summer.
I’m sure Chelsea fans would love to see Pato in the Chelsea Blue, but at £43m does he represent value for money and is he what Chelsea need?
