Arsenal Transfer News: Wenger Set To Splash £35m+ On Deadline Day
Despite making three signings in 2 days, Arsene Wenger is still keen to add further talent to his squad before the window closes.
Arsenal have agreed deals for Park Chu-young, Per Mertesacker and Andre Santos in recent days but Wenger is still looking for another centre back and a midfielder.
There are conflicting reports surround Bolton’s Gary Cahill, with some suggesting Arsenal will make a deadline day move after having a second £8m bid rejected on Monday, with Bolton holding out for £12m. While other’s say Arsenal have pulled out of the race for the England international leaving Tottenham in the driving seat.
The Telegraph has suggested Wenger has turned his attention to Chelsea’s Alex, with the Blues then set to move for Cahill should they agree to sell Alex to the Gunners.
There could also be a late move for Rennes defensive midfielder Yann M’Vila, with widespread reports claiming Arsenal are lining up a record £25m bid. Wenger’s interest in the France international is well known but it seems a deal is down to the two clubs agreeing on a fee.
Sky Sports are also heavily linking Arsenal with moves for Chelsea duo Florent Malouda and Yossi Benayoun.
