Arsenal Can Still Win The League!

The start of the season hasn’t been ideal but the Gunners still have time to save their season. There is still a lot of football left to be played with a possible 96 points still available in the league. Yes we have been less than convincing but with all the drama that took place during the pre-season, no one expected it to be easy.

There are some new faces who have just been thrown in the deep end, without any time to link up with their team mates in pre-season as they were bought on deadline day. They are experienced internationals so it won’t take them that long to settle in to the team. We have seen players like Arteta, Benayoun, Mertesacker and Gervinho who have done a good job without being spectacular, which is a good sign for things to come once they have settled in.

The other positive not to forget is we are still in all four competitions and while we are far behind in the league we have seen the other teams don’t really look unbeatable. Manchester United are playing great but not without having some luck along the way. Teams like Arsenal and Chelsea created the same or even more chances than United at Old Trafford even Stoke and West Brom had many chances to win or draw their matches. There were times in their matches that if these teams took their chances the results could have been very different. The same goes with City whose team is not unbeatable as we found out after their first Champions league clash where Mancini complained his team where tired even though their game was in Manchester.

While many pundits are all talking up United and City there are many other teams who will decide the title. Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham will all be pushing them close.

Yes people will say Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham only have a chance of pushing for a top four finish but in doing that these teams will still need to be consistent and compete with the likes of United, Chelsea and City which will give all the teams a chance of winning the league. Every year the league gets more competitive with the smaller teams trying to win most of their home games and there are no easy games anymore.

This is the sole reason why Arsenal can win the league. We aren’t the most consistent team but we always challenge for the title even if we fall away in the last few weeks. But this season there is no doubt that we will finish the league stronger as come to the final stretch we will be a better team with players working together and players back from injuries. We should also expect new signings in January which will give us a better chance of winning a trophy. All we need to do for now is to string some good results together to regain our confidence and we should be fine.
