Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a huge number of players recently. One of those is Bayern Munich and Croatia left back/winger Danijel Pranjic. Here are a few interesting facts about him.
Position
Pranjic is a left sided player. His crossing is his best strength, and he therefore prefers to play as a left winger. He is often deployed as left back, but considering his defensive skills, it’s a position he doesn’t like to play at. Interestingly, he has been deployed at defensive midfield a few times, mostly at Bayern under van Gaal.
Temper
He is very short-tempered. He was thrown out of the Croatian National Team because he refused to shake hands with manager Slaven Bilic. Pranjic doesn´t like to sit on the bench, and could potentially lead to unrest in the locker room if he finds himself out of the first team.
Playing Style
Pranjic is a traditional left winger. He loves to get past his marker and either cross the ball or cut inside. He is known for his excellent crosses and also gets his fair share of goals per season.
Pranjic played brilliantly a few years ago at Herenveen, but unfortunately didn’t prove himself at Bayern. If available for a reasonable price (€4.5-6 million), Arsenal or Liverpool should undoubtedly buy him. However at 29-years-old, he would only be a short term solution. The biggest problem for Arsenal or Liverpool is his wish to play regular football, which he could find hard to get at either the Emirates or Anfield.
