Chelsea Transfer News: Blues Line Up £30m South American Star

Chelsea are lining up a sensational move for Real Madrid and Brazil playmaker Kaka, according to reports.

Several media outlets are reporting that Real are willing to sell the Brazilian star after a disappointing spell at the Bernabeu which has been blighted by injury. After several impressive seasons in Italy with AC Milan, Kaka moved to Madrid for £59m but its been suggested the Spanish giants are willing to offload the Samba star for £30m.

Kaka has returned to fitness in recent months and is returning to form but is still finding it hard to hold down a first team spot in Jose Mourinho’s starting eleven, and at 29-years-old, Madrid are keen to cash in now and get a return on their investment.

Chelsea are thought to be interested with owner Roman Abramovich keen to add a marquee name to his squad in a bid to lift morale which is low after a disappointing start to the season. Despite the Russians interest, manager Andre Villas-Boas may be reluctant to bring in a player pushing 30 as it goes against his transfer policy of signing younger stars with potential.
