Liverpool’s second string blew their chance to impress ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup final as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Fulham at Anfield on Tuesday night.
Kenny Dalglish predictably made wholesale changes to the side, as he gave several players their chance to give the Scot a selection headache ahead of the weekends big game. However, they failed to produce the goods as Liverpool went down 1-0 thanks to an unfortunate early Skrtel own goal.
Andy Carroll and Jay Spearing are probably the only players who left the game with any sort of credit, although youngster Raheem Sterling also made an encouraging late cameo performance. Kenny Dalglish was scathing in his post match criticism of his players and will be demanding a far more committed performance on Saturday.
