Arsenal Target Wants ‘Dream’ Barcelona Move
Aymen Abdennour could be set to disappoint Arsenal after admitting it would be a ‘dream’ for him to move to the Nou Camp amid reported interest from Barcelona.
Despite the transfer window now being closed there will still be plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers, so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Aymen Abdennour eyes Barcelona move.
Arsenal target Aymen Abdennour could be set to disappoint the Gunners after admitting he’s flattered by reported interest from Barcelona and admits it would be a ‘dream’ for him to move to the Nou Camp, according to the Daily Express.
The report claims boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking the Toulouse defender for some time and is understood to be mulling over a summer move after receiving glowing reports from his scouting team.
Most Arsenal fans would agree that defence has been an area of concern in recent times and while the arrival of Nacho Monreal from Malaga in January looks to be an astute move, the Express believe Wenger is planning on making further defensive additions in the summer.
However, it seems we face a fight for Abdennour with the newspaper claiming Spanish giants Barca are also eyeing the 23-year-old with the Tunisian international admitting he’s flattered by their interest and would jump at the chance of moving to the Nou Camp.
“I am flattered by the interest of the biggest club in the world.
“Barca would be a dream come true but at the same time I have a contract until 2017.” Abdennour is quoted as saying by the Express
We look extremely thin at the back following the loan departures of Johan Djourou and Andre Santos and if the duo, along with Sebastian Squillaci, leave on a permanent basis in the summer there is little doubt we’ll need to bring in some defensive reinforcements at the end of the season.

Abdennour looks to be a powerful defender and has impressed during his time in France since making the move to Toulouse in 2011 but it looks like we may have our work cut out persuading him to come to the Emirates if Barcelona also follow up their reported interest in the player.
