Inter Milan vs Tottenham Preview, Team News, Likely Line-ups & Predicted Score
Tottenham take on Inter Milan at the San Siro on Thursday evening looking to keep protect a commanding 3-0 lead. Here’s a preview with team news for the game.
Tottenham Hotspur are in Italy to take on Inter Milan at the San Siro this evening for the second leg of their Europa League last-16 tie.
Spurs will be looking to protect a commanding 3-0 lead after thrashing the Italians in the first leg at White Hart Lane last week, but boss Andre Villas-Boas will know his players cant afford to be complacent and need to finish the job in Milan tonight.
The Londoners head into the game after seeing their long unbeaten run ended at Anfield on Sunday when Liverpool came from behind to earn a 3-2 victory, but Spurs were their own worst enemies with two defensive mistakes costing them dearly.
AVB will be keen to get back on track tonight and Inter look a vulnerable side at present and have only managed two wins from their last six games, so the Premier League side are red-hot favourites to reach the quarter finals.
Team News
Tottenham will have to make do without star man Gareth Bale after the winger picked up his third booking of the competition for diving in the first leg and is therefore suspended.
Emmanuel Adebayor is back in contention after recovering from a knee injury but Aaron Lennon faces a late fitness test on a hamstring strain that ruled him out of last weekends clash with Liverpool.
Clint Dempsey did not travel despite edging closer to full fitness and Sandro, Tom Huddlestone and Younes Kaboul remain out. AVB will once again recall Brad Friedel for the game while William Gallas could also come in.
Inter welcome back goalkeeper Samir Handanovic after he was suspended for the weekneds defeat to Bologna due to suspension. Andrea Ranocchia is in the squad despite having surgery on his nose but he isn’t expected to start.
Diego Milito, Walter Samuel, Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Yuto Nagatomo all remain out through injury.
Likely Line-ups
Predicted Score
Inter are going to have to come out and go for goals which could play right into Tottenham’s hands. Spurs will look to pick the Italians off on the break and if Inter play anything like they did in the first leg, Tottenham will easily progress tonight. I’m going for an away win and Spurs through to the last 8 with ease. Inter Milan 1-2 Tottenham
