Guardiola ‘Determined’ To Sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere
Pep Guardiola is ‘determined’ to sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and will launch an audacious bid to lure him to Bayern Munich when he takes over in the summer.
With the summer transfer window set to re-open, there is plenty of gossip doing the rounds in the newspapers so we’ll keep you up-to-date with the latest transfer rumours. Today, Bayern Munich eye audacious bid for Jack Wilshere.
Pep Guardiola is ‘determined’ to sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and will launch an audacious bid to lure him to Bayern Munich when he takes over as manager in the summer, according to the Metro.
The former Barcelona boss is set to take over the reigns at the Allianz Arena at the end of the season and the report claims he’s already identified Wilshere as a key signing to enhance the already hugely impressive squad he’s inheriting.
Wilshere signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal back in December and has been with the club since he was 9 years old, so it will surely take a special offer for us to even think about selling the 21-year-old.
However, it seems the Champions League finalists are not being deterred and the Metro claim they will approach Arsenal this summer with Guardiola believed to be confident Wilshere will be available at the right price and is determined to make him a Bayern Munich player.
According to the newspaper, key to the Spaniard’s thinking is that he feels Wilshere may be persuaded to leave the Emirates in search of trophies and will be tempted to try his luck in Germany.
As much as Bayern may be a tempting proposition for any player, I really don’t see anything coming from this, despite what the Metro say. Wilshere is a true Arsenal man who loves the club and I’m confident he will not only still be with us next season, but he may even be installed as captain this summer.
He’s only 21 and due to a series of injuries, he hasn’t even had the opportunity to play a full season with us yet, so I’m not going to get too worried. I think we’ll have a few seasons out of Jack yet before he even considers leaving. Hopefully if we can match his ambition and start filling the trophy cabinet again, he may even be a one-club man and stay his entire career.
