Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Belgian international Nacer Chadli on their official website after the winger agreed personal terms and passed a medical.
The 23-year-old flew to London earlier in the week to discuss terms and undergo a medical examination after Spurs had agreed a fee – believed to be in the region of £7m – with Dutch outfit FC Twente.
Those formalities have now been completed and the winger will link up with the rest of his new team mates in Hong Kong and is expected to be available to face Monaco on Saturday August 3rd.
Chadli joins an ever-growing list of Belgians at White Hart Lane that already includes Mousa Dembele and Jan Vertonghen, and he becomes manager Andre Villas-Boas’s second major signing of the summer following on from the capture of Brazilian midfielder Paulinho.
The attacker first attracted interest from Spurs after scoring against them in both legs of their Champions League games during the group stages three years ago, and he’s continued to grow his reputation in Holland with some fine displays for Twente.
The Belgian is predominantly a winger but can play anywhere across the front-line so he’ll provide AVB with plenty of options in attack next season.
