Liverpool + Man Utd Target Keen To ‘Work Under Arsene Wenger’
The agent of Liverpool and Manchester United target, Arda Turan, has claimed the Atletico Madrid winger is keen on joining Arsenal to work with Arsene Wenger
The January transfer window may have slammed shut but clubs will still be working hard behind the scenes at identifying targets for the summer, so we’ll bring you all the latest news, gossip and rumours. Today, Arda Turan wants to work with Arsene Wenger.
He may be attracting interest from the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United but according to his agent, Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan is keen on joining Arsenal to work with Arsene Wenger, reports the Daily Star.
The Turkish international has been enjoying an excellent season in Spain and has played a key role in an Atletico side that’s keeping pace with Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga title race, while Diego Simone’s side are also on the verge of qualifying for the last 8 of the Champions League.
Turan’s impressive form has led to strong interest from the Premier League, with speculation linking Liverpool and Manchester United with a move for the tricky winger before he ended up signing a new contract extension at the Vicente Calderon.
However, Turan’s agent, Ahmed Bulut, has revealed that although the player is content at Atletcio, he has admitted he’d love to join Arsenal to work under Arsene Wenger and is keen to try his luck in England.
“He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England.
“But Arda will not leave Atletico yet. They are part of the title race and he is a key player.
“Arda plays for a big club and he will be part of Atletico’s success.
“I would like to emphasise again that Arda recently extended his contract. He will be staying at Atletico.” Bulut is quoted as saying by the Star
These are certainly some interesting comments from the agent and they could be constrewed as some sort of ‘come and get me plea’ or him trying to prompt Arsenal into joining the race for the wingers signature. Bulut obviously covered his back by insisting the player is happy at Atletico, but why say he wants to work with Wenger and play in England then?
One things for certain, if any Premier League club manages to get their hands on Turan, be it Arsenal, Liverpool or United, they would get an excellent player who should do well in England. He’s quick, strong and would bring a lot of creativity to the side.

His career stats show he’s scored 64 goals and assisted 104 times in 323 appearances so far, while he’s also scored 14 goals in 71 caps for Turkey, so he’d clearly made for a useful addition to any squad.
