Liverpool To Launch £53m Bid To Sign Bundesliga Star As Klopp Eyes 3rd Signing

Liverpool are ready to launch a £53m bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Julian Brandt as Jurgen Klopp looks to land his third summer signing.

The summer transfer window is open and managers are working hard on their transfer targets so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Liverpool are ready to make a move for Julian Brandt…

Liverpool are ready to launch a £53m bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen attacker Julian Brandt as Jurgen Klopp looks to land his third summer signing, according to reports via the Mirror.

Klopp is in the market for another attacking midfielder after failing to sign a replacement for Philippe Coutinho following his big-money move to Barcelona in January and he’s on the look out for alternatives after a proposed deal to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon broke down last month.

It seems Klopp is ready to raid his homeland as the Mirror are citing a report from Calcio Insider that claims Liverpool have identified Leverkusen star Brandt as a potential transfer target.

The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move to Anfield every since Klopp took charge and the report suggests Liverpool are finally ready to formalise their interest with a £53m offer.

It remains to be seen whether Leverkusen will sell as Brandt still has three years left to run on his current contract and is a key player for them but £53m might be too good an offer to turn down if Liverpool put it on the table.

Brandt developed in to one of the hottest young talents in German football since breaking in to the Leverkusen first team three years ago and he enjoyed an excellent campaign last season with 12 goals and 7 assists.

The youngster was controversially selected ahead of Manchester City’s Leroy Sane by Joachim Low for the Germany World Cup squad so he’s certainly highly-rated in his homeland.

Brandt is predominantly a left winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attacking midfield positions so his versatility would be a useful asset for Klopp if Liverpool were able to lure him to Anfield.

Klopp has already splashed out around £100m on Fabinho and Naby Keita but he knows he needs more depth in attack to support Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane next season and it looks like Brandt is firmly on his radar.
