By on November 24, 2015

Chelsea moved level on points at the top of Group G after easing to a 4-0 victory over 10-man Maccabi Tel Aviv tonight.

The Blues opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Gary Cahill poked home the rebound from close range after his initial header was well saved.

Maccabi’s chances of drawing level were given a major blow when Tal Ben Haim was sent off for a kick out at Diego Costa just before half time.

Chelsea made their man advantage count as they doubled their advantage through a stunning free-kick from Willian before Oscar made the three points safe with a third in the 77th minute.

Kurt Zouma – who came off the bench to replace the injured John Terry – put a bit of gloss on the scoreline with a late fourth as he headed home from a corner in injury time.

The win sees Chelsea move level on points with FC Porto after they lost at home to Dynamo Kiev meaning Jose Mourinho’s men need just a point against the Portuguese side to seal top spot.
