Mahrez To Join Arsenal In £37m Deal After Agreeing Personal Terms

By on July 28, 2016

The summer transfer window is in full swing so we’ll bring you all the latest transfer rumours and gossip from around the globe. Today, Riyad Mahrez is close to joining Arsenal…

Riyad Mahrez

Riyah Mahrez is expected to complete a £37m move to Arsenal over the coming days with personal terms already agreed with the Leicester City attacker, according to Algerian outlet Le Buteur.

Mahrez has emerged as a key target for Arsene Wenger after scoring 17 goals as well as providing 10 assists to help Leicester march towards a shock Premier League title win last season.

Reports from Eurosport FR last week suggested that the 25-year-old had decided to leave the King Power this summer and had chosen Arsenal as his next destination following talks between Wenger and his agent Kamel Bengougam.

It appears the proposed move is now edging closer to completion as reports coming from Algerian outlet Le Buteur claim that a journalist close to Arsenal has informed them that Mahrez will complete a £37m move to the Emirates within the next few days.

Claudio Ranieri has been desperately trying to persuade the Algerian international to remain with Leicester and the newspaper says that the clubs owners sent a delegation to meet Mahrez to try and convince him to sign a new deal but the attacker made it clear he wants to leave for Arsenal.

Negotiations between the two clubs are expected to continue but Le Buteur say that Mahrez has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal and the £37m deal should be wrapped-up soon.

As with any transfer story, we need to take this report with a pinch of salt until something concrete comes out but obviously I’d absolutely love for this to be true and to see Mahrez join Arsenal this summer.

We desperately need to bring in attacking reinforcements and while an out-and-out striker should be a priority, a wide attacker is also needed and there was nobody better than Mahrez in the Premier League last season.

If we do end up signing the PFA Player of the Year, it will cast fresh doubts over the future of Theo Walcott with the England international tipped to leave north London this summer after losing his place in Wenger’s starting eleven.

yes all BS. We’ll hear Chelsea got him to link with Kante. Makes sense and Wenger will tell him same as he told Varny, no promise to play him in chosen position

Wenger won’t buy Mahrez . He will make out he really tried and let us supporters down. Wenger is a con merchant. He has spent £30,000,000 on a player and Asano is the next big buy, £3,000,000, forward. Wenger hates the supporters and will let them down. Wenger will let you down.

As if Mahrez will be signing in the next 48 hours, as reports suggest, when he’ll be playing against PSG on Saturday, on about 48 hours. If he wasn’t staying he’d have been left at home with De Laet and Inler because there is no way Ranieri would have taken him to LA.

Before the Celtic game Ranieri said if he was leaving he would have been on the bench but he started and if he starts against PSG too then there’s really no chance he’s leaving.

Also Algeria isn’t his home country, France is. He’s never lived in Algeria, his dad was just from there. Also his agent isn’t from Algeria either, he’s also French with maybe Algerian decent but lives in Central America I think so really what do the Algerians know? Not a lot I wouldn’t have thought.

It was suggested that Vardy was signing for Arsenal and look how that turned out!

Wenger won’t buy Mahrez for 37m pds & he is not even contemplating buying a top defender . He is coaching Coquelin to play defender so that he doesn’t buy one. All strikers are found at prices above 40m pds & he still dreams of getting one at 2006 prices.Arsenal will have to experience a heavy embarrassing defeat ( like 8-2 against Man U) for the board & Gazidis that we have a weak team .It will be a very hard, long & stressful season for Arsenal fans.I would have wished if Wenger’ contract was going to be up by 31st December 2016.

Wenger will sign Mustafi but maybe at the expense of a striker because he will say they have spent money. Mustafi isn’t coming cheap. Forget Mahrez. Maybe he will sign just a decent striker though. Wissam Ben Yedder.

As for me wenger has nothing to offer us at arsenal. If getting mahrez will bring an end to theo walcott, chamberlain and some other useless players in arsenal then I don’t care. We need players who are dedicated and ready to offer us quality football. Arsenal should not be run by morons, Wenger should please make the supporters happy for once.
